Bakery Deception

Today the Husband and I spent a lot of the day together. We took the Fang in for his checkup, (the vet said he was perfect. And 10lbs!) got new tires for the car, fed the ducks and went to a bakery/cafe for lunch.

It was a little bakery in the east end of town and we just stopped in for lunch. I had a roast beef sandwich and he had a meat pie. The food was fine, the bread on my sandwich was tasty and the crust on the meat pie was nice. Yum! We though "we are in a bakery, let's have a brownie or something - just to test the wares." That's when we found out. The brownies and blondies and macaroon squares were exactly the same ones we use at work. They come in bulk from a bakery in Toronto. Not homemade at all! Terrible.

There was also the lady who was cleaning things and making change and serving customers with gloves on, but I don't think she ever changed her gloves. Ew! Gloves are not cleaner than hands people. They are as dirty as anything you touch. Change gloves frequently or just plain old wash your hands.

Needless to say, we won't be going back there.
