Saturday morning we went out for Breakfast to Cora’s. It’s a chain that specializes in breakfasts and it’s hugely popular. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated but it was worth it. I had Eggs Benedict which were very good, they came with potatoes and a huge amount of fruit. The Husband had the Cora’s special which is eggs sausage, bacon, ham and pancake. And toast. And potatoes. ( he was full)
Of Course I forgot to take a picture.
We also had maple taffy at the Winterlude celebration as well as Hot chocolate.
Maple taffy is maple syrup that has been further reduced and is poured onto clean snow to set up.
Huge Sugar Rush!
Since we had a late and huge breakfast we skipped lunch and went straight to dinner. We had decided to cook to save money. The Husband and I planned a menu of Tossed Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Garlic Bread, Pasta with Roast Chicken and Pine Nuts and finished up with Chocolate Cake with Bitter Sweet Chocolate Ganache. (It was a Birthday Celebration!) Groceries only cost 50$ and with 6 helpers we had the whole meal on the table in 30 minutes. It helped that we put the cake on the porch to cool. Because of the weather it was stone cold in 10 minutes. I was so busy eating and cooking and laughing that I forgot to take and pictures. (again!)
The next morning we went for Dim Sum. Yummm…. I don’t remember all of what we had But I know we went from this…….
To this.....
In about 15 minutes.
We also had Beavertails as an afternoon snack.
Mmmmm Deep-fried Dough with cinnamon Sugar.
I need to go on a diet now.
